We turn uncertain technology into working systems.

DELRIQUE LABS is an applied research lab. We explore emerging tech, run disciplined experiments, build the ideas that survive — and customize open-source systems so organizations can own what they run.

01 — The Lab

A place to test what technology can become.

Technology moves fast. The lab gives us room to investigate that change through practical work — building prototypes, testing new tools, and documenting what we learn, good or bad.

Explore

Understand a technology, a problem, or an emerging idea before committing to it.

Experiment

Test it in a controlled environment with clear hypotheses and measurable outcomes.

Build

Turn the ideas that survive into working prototypes and reusable tools.

Share

Document, publish, or open-source what can benefit others.

Learn

Feed every outcome — success or failure — back into the next cycle.

Govern

Apply privacy, security and control as design constraints, not afterthoughts.

02 — Services

Open source, customized for your organization.

Don't build from scratch. Don't pay proprietary lock-in. We take proven open-source projects, harden them, theme them to your brand, and integrate them into your stack — with documentation and maintenance included.

03 — Focus Areas

What we are actively investigating.

These are questions, not services. Each area has running projects behind it.

AI & Intelligent Systems

Local AI, retrieval pipelines, automation, and AI-assisted workflows with human oversight.

6 projects

Software & Engineering

Developer tools, interfaces, and practical digital utilities built and battle-tested.

4 projects

Automation

How repetitive digital work can be simplified with software and intelligent systems.

active

Open Source

Reworking, extending and publishing useful technology for others to build on.

3 repos

Privacy & Control

Technologies that give people transparency and ownership over their digital systems.

principle

Emerging Technology

Investigating new platforms, models and frameworks before they go mainstream.

04 — Projects

What we are building.

Projects are ideas that have earned their way past the experiment stage. We build them deliberately, test assumptions as we go, and publish what proves useful.

Featured Context-Aware Business Search Area: Search Systems

Context-Aware Business Search

01 / Tested

Can organizational search understand business context?

Keyword search matches strings, not meaning. We asked whether results improve when a system weighs entities, relationships and intent.

02 / Hypothesis

Semantic ranking beats lexical matching

Results improve when structured organizational data is combined with semantic ranking and evaluated against internal test corpora.

03 / Approach

Hybrid retrieval + re-ranking

We prototype pipelines that fuse lexical and dense retrieval, then re-rank with a lightweight cross-encoder tuned on domain documents.

04 / Result

Findings maturing

Early runs show measurable gains on internal corpora. Full write-up publishes as the experiment matures.

Context-Aware Business Search

Hybrid lexical + dense retrieval with cross-encoder re-ranking for organizational knowledge. Measuring gains over keyword search on internal corpora.

ActiveLocal AI

On-Device Inference Pipelines

Running small language models close to the user and infrastructure — latency, cost and privacy trade-offs for enterprise use.

BuildingAutomation

Resilient Workflow Automation

Idempotent, observable automation for repetitive digital work — with human checkpoints where judgement matters.

Abstract network
ActiveKnowledge systems

Structured Organizational Memory

Capturing institutional knowledge as structured, queryable graphs rather than documents that decay.

Server infrastructure
ActivePrivacy

Privacy-First AI Workflows

Frameworks that keep data control, transparency and human oversight fundamental in AI-assisted processes.

Self-Hosted Enterprise Tooling

Modular, interoperable components that return control of the stack to the organization.

Full write-ups publish as experiments mature — and they'll appear here and on Insights when they're released.

05 — Open Source

Built to be shared.

When an experiment can be useful beyond the lab, we share it — where licensing, security and project maturity allow.

Research Libraries

Reusable code libraries and analysis frameworks extracted from our experiments.

As projects mature

Developer Tools

Utilities that improve development and review workflows.

Coming soon

Infrastructure

Self-hosted and deployment tooling for reproducible environments.

Coming soon
Principle. We open-source when it helps others and when doing so doesn't compromise a partner's confidentiality or a project's security. Repositories will be linked here as they are released.

06 — Services

Open source, customized for your organization.

Don't build from scratch. Don't pay proprietary lock-in. We take proven open-source projects, harden them, theme them to your brand, and integrate them into your stack — with documentation and maintenance included.

The offer

Own the system. Skip the risk.

You get a system your team understands, controls, and can modify — built on a foundation thousands of others already rely on, then shaped to your context.

Hardened by default

We close the gaps generic deployments leave open: auth, secrets, logging, rate limits, and update hygiene.

Themed to your brand

Interface, terminology and workflows aligned to how your teams actually work — not a generic admin panel.

Integrated, not isolated

Wired into your SSO, data sources and existing tooling so it earns its place in the stack.

What we customize

Seven steps, end to end.

Fork

Select a mature, well-maintained open-source base suited to the problem — audited for license and supply-chain risk.

Harden

Patch, configure securely, remove unused attack surface, and add the controls your compliance posture requires.

Theme

Brand-aligned interface, language and layout — usable by your people on day one.

Integrate

Connect to identity, data and adjacent systems via clean, documented interfaces.

Extend

Build the capabilities the upstream project doesn't ship but your workflow needs.

Document

Operator runbooks, admin guides and architecture notes your team can actually use.

Maintain

A defined maintenance plan: upstream tracking, patch cadence, and a clear escalation path.

Hand over

Source, keys, credentials and knowledge transferred cleanly to your team or ours to run.

Why this beats the alternatives

Three paths, one clear winner.

Build from scratch

Maximum fit, maximum cost and risk. You re-learn every lesson the open-source community already shipped.

slow · expensive

Proprietary SaaS

Fast to start, but you inherit recurring cost, data residency questions, and vendor lock-in.

recurring · locked-in

Example domains

Where this fits.

Enterprise tooling

Internal apps, portals and workflows built on open frameworks instead of bespoke code.

Internal utilities

Document pipelines, reporting, dashboards and automation glued to your systems.

Observability & dashboards

Self-hosted analytics and monitoring with your data never leaving your perimeter.

Automation layers

Workflow engines and bots that replace brittle manual processes, with audit trails.

Engagement process

How a project runs.

01

Audit

We map your problem, constraints, stack and compliance needs — and pick a candidate base.

02

Plan

A written scope: what we fork, what we harden, what we build, and what "done" means.

03

Customize

Harden → theme → integrate → extend, in short reviewable increments.

04

Integrate

Connect to your environment; validate with your data and your users.

05

Handover & Maintain

Documentation, runbooks, and a maintenance plan you can adopt or have us run.

Assurance

Your control stays yours.

07 — Insights

From the lab.

All writing

Detailed write-ups — experiment results, architecture decisions and observations — are published here as they mature.

08 — Philosophy

DELRIQUE means "Deliver Unique."

Not novelty for its own sake — but the pursuit of better ideas, better systems, and better outcomes. The lab applies that philosophy to technology: explore widely, experiment carefully, build deliberately, and share what proves useful.

"Better ideas. Better systems. Better outcomes."

09 — Connect

Have something worth exploring?

We're interested in ideas, technical problems, experiments and opportunities where technology can be tested, built or improved.
